ACT Women’s Triples 2019
Fantastic ACT Women’s Triple Final played today at QRSLM in some of the most challenging weather so far this year. The only thing missing other than warmth was the snow/sleet which didn’t fall until after the game. Both teams found the going tough but the spectators had a thrilling game to watch from inside the club in sub-tropical conditions. The lead see-sawed with some great bowls from all players, coming down to 19-19 after 24 ends. The magnificent drive, taking the jack to ditch, by Nichole Mengel deserved to win the end but Mina Bannerman’s draw bowl was just enough to see the Canberra team take the title for consecutive years, Great sportsmanship by all players and great support on display all afternoon.
